ABOUT BELVIQ®

Belviq® and its generic versions, lorcaserin are very popular weight-loss drugs used in the United States. It is sold and produced by Eisai Inc and was first approved by the FDA in 2012. Belviq® works by triggering chemical signals that make people want to eat less. Dosages vary between 10mg and 20mg tablets taken once daily. The recommended dose of Belviq® XR is 20 mg administered orally once daily.

Belviq® manufacturer Eisai, a Japanese company, has agreed to recall Belviq® from the market after the FDA performed an analysis of safety study results and found a very serious increased risk of several types of cancer in individuals who took Belviq®.

SIGNS & SYMPTOMS

  • Pancreatic Cancer
  • Colorectal Cancer
  • Lung Cancer
